Functional Oncology Program Overview
- Functional Oncology Program Pricing: Program costs are detailed for potential patients during the Inspiration Encounter. Costs differ from Phase 1 through targeted healing programs defined under cancer roots for GI, Nutrition and HPA Axis Dysfunction. Functional Oncology: an in-depth cancer treatment program focusing on the patient's functional needs specifically related to their type of cancer, its specific cancer hallmarks and tumor markers and cancer roots. The phase 1 program involves care over eight months to one year and included are targeted cancer treatment plans from a functional medicine board certified practitioner, a functional medicine certified health coach, holistic nutritionist and holistic psychotherapist. Lab testing is included in the program price and focuses on the gut nutrition and other detailed testing as indicated by cancer type/patient history. - CancerRoot Nutritional Deficiencies: patients will learn about their bodies nutritional deficits, levels of toxins, ability to detoxify, heavy metal load, and status of the G.I. microbiome using testing by Genova Diagnostics, the Nutri eval. The cost of the testing is included in the program. Patients will have two one-hour visits with Jen Bouchard APN, the first visit prior to testing to review history and symptoms, the second visit will cover review of the test results and a plan for treatment. - CancerRoot HPA Axis Dysfunction: cortisol plays an in-depth role in regulating the immune system and elevated cortisol levels can suppress the body's immune response potentially affecting the immune system's ability to detect and destroy cancer cells. Reducing cortisol will decrease your risk of cancer growth and proliferation. This is a two visit program with Jen Bouchard APN and includes an in-depth review of medical history, cancer and treatment history, and will involve testing cortisol levels in the first visit. A second visit will involve review of testing results in a plan to reduce cortisol levels if indicated.
- CancerRoot G.I. Dysbiosis and Malabsorption: Patients with symptoms of diarrhea, gas, constipation and/or reflux you likely have bacterial dysbiosis and possibly infection in the gut. Low levels of beneficial bacteria can be identified through testing the G.I. microbiome, low levels can leave you at risk for chronic inflammation, viruses, autoimmune disorders, and contribute to cancer growth and proliferation. 70-80% of the immune system lies in the gut and the gut is consistently exposed to the outside world. It needs to be optimized for your cancer fight and your treatment success! This is a two visit program that includes in-depth review of medical history, cancer and treatment history, and testing of your microbiome. Testing is done using the Genova Diagnostics G.I. effects Comprehensive Testing. The price of this is included in the program. In the second visit test results will be reviewed in-depth and a plan made to impact the G.I. microbiome and the immune system to increase success for cancer patients in their treatment plans. Phase 1: Functional Oncology Patient Program
- Initial 2 hour visit and 2 subsequent 60-90 minute follow-up appointments with with Jennifer Bouchard CNP MPH, IFMCP . Includes focused virtual appointments to discuss symptom history, extensive functional review of your history birth to present. Review of Cancer History: diagnosis, staging, tumor site. Current treatment plan/Past treatment plan. personal goals to heal detailed. Review of Medical History and questionnaires sent to patient on the portal/email. Review of Mapped history timeline. Performing a visual physical exam. Developing a functional oncology matrix to establish a framework to gather, organize, tell, initiate, and track the functional oncology plan. Extensive and detailed plan is made based on patients cancer hallmarks and research specific to impact specific cancers. Treatment plan optimizing your chances of successful healing from cancer will be developed . Follow up appointments focus on treatment progress and test results as indicated. All patients have testing built into their treatment plans: Stool Test and Nutritional testing, cancer specific functional labs, and other testing as indicated.
- Three 60 minute visits with the IFM health coach and one 60 minute visit with the holistic psychotherapist. Three 1 hour Cancer Nutrition Appointments
- Ordering of initial lab work to be done via local laboratory depending on patient location. Specialized testing kits based on symptoms and diagnostic goals to be sent directly to the patient utilizing RUPA.
- 30% discount on all prescribed supplements through medical grade supplement company Fullscript, or prescriptions as indicated dependent on patient location.
- Introduction to the Elimination diet or another plan based on cancer history and nutrition status through the oncology/functional medicine nutritionist. Nutrition plan is personalized according to individual needs.
- Direct patient portal messaging
- Plans for functional testing kits that include GI, nutrition, and toxin load as indicated.
- Individualized lifestyle recommendations for diet, sleep, stress and exercise
- Provider time conducting research specific to patient case regarding cancer history and treatment to optimize Functional Oncology plan is up to 8 hours per patient.
1 hour follow up appointments for Functional Medicine and Functional Oncology Patients long term
- After visits in the Phase 1 program are complete, treatment plan is ongoing.
- Direct patient portal messaging
- Ongoing lab and testing recommended and ordered as indicated based on response to treatment plans and goals.
- Continued nutrition recommendations through the Nutritionist and /or the Nourishingmeals.com website.
- Separate Holistic Psychotherapist and/or Health Coach membership plans are also available to meet the needs for therapy long term: For cancer patients and for patients with trauma history/higher ACE scores. This plan can be discussed at an appointment with Jen, the Health Coach or the Holistic Psychotherapist.
Personalized Visits NO Membership Plan
- After Phase 1 is completed for functional medicine or oncology and a membership is not desired, any patient may schedule a 30 minute provider visit, 60 minute health coach and/or holistic psychotherapist appointments as needed. These visits are individually priced.
